Would a Coach By Any Other Name Receive So Much Blame?

Something I put for one of many Joe Paterno Threads showing up on facebook. I thought it should be said.

R.I.P. Joe Pa

I don’t think just because of Joe Pa’s status in college football, he should be getting the bulk of the blame and shame. If you had so much contempt for this man, then what about the ginger (don’t know his name) still have a job with the football team. He was fired over the phone (which in a way was messed up) How much more demonization does he deserve? Will this one situation take away all the good he has done for Penn State on a macro, micro, and individual basis? All this anger for one guy, I don’t understand it. Who is the criminal here. If there is share blame to be passed, then pass the shared blame. Don’t put it all on one person. It took a person who was defending Joe Pa (in this thread at least) to name drop Sandusky and to bring in the conversation that Joe Pa wasn’t even the guy in question who did the molesting. That in itself is a problem. He is many things, but a molester isn’t one of them. An enabler isn’t one of them. If you inserted any man NOT named Joe Pa in his position, would he get so much heat? Heck no. He is only getting all of this hate because of who he is. Simple facts.
